About Us

Mission

Established in 2015, Thomas Urban Development is a 501c3 that seeks to

​     

     1) educate the community on home repairs,

     2) use internships to provide training in various trades.

     3)provide free estimates and repair services to single parents, low-income families, and the elderly. 

It takes a team of dedicated volunteers to educate and repair Metro Deroit. We are fortunate enough to have citizens who are willing to dedicate their time, energy, and expertise to this great cause! Dont wait, JOIN the movement now and together we can beautify the community together!


Our Founder, Lawrence Thomas has over thirty years of experience in construction in both residential and commercial building. He possesses a wealth of knowledge in all facets of property management, including responsibilities from resident management to apartment construction worker. He currently manages a construction company servicing greater Detroit and works as a journeyman with skill set as a pipe-fitter, plumber and steamfitter. His desire is to partner with businesses to improve local communities. He has a proven track record of delivering outstanding compliant work. He is a creative and innovative thinker driving effective building improvements. He continuously seeks new opportunities to improve business acumen to build strategic partnerships with organizations who increase the value of impacting our communities. Lawrence takes great pride in operating with integrity.

Secretary- She works as an Independent Consultant (College and Career Programs) and has a Master of Arts from University of Michigan

Darnell Boynton, ESQ

Treasure- He is a highly accomplished licensed attorney in the state of Michigan and Georgia with 17 years of Corporate Compliance experience.

Karen McEwen

 Vice President - She has extensive experience as a K-12 Administrator with a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University
